1) Acceptance of these terms

By using oceanwelfare.com or donating through our bank accounts, JazzCash, Easypaisa, or card links, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or make a payment.

3) Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be 18+ or have a guardian’s consent.

  • If you create an account, keep your login secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4) Donations

  • Donations are voluntary and usually non-refundable. See our Donation Refund & Cancellation Policy for exceptions.

  • We may accept donations for general funds or for a specific appeal (for example flood relief). We will use restricted funds for that purpose as far as practicable. If we raise more than needed or a project becomes impracticable, we may reallocate to similar activities that further our mission.

5) Zakat and other restricted gifts

  • If you tag a donation as Zakat, we will try to use it in line with Zakat-eligible activities and internal guidelines.

  • Final eligibility is applied by our team based on need assessments and Shariah guidance available to us. If you need a formal Zakat utilization note, please email us after donating with your transaction details.

6) Recurring donations

  • If you start a monthly or quarterly donation, you authorize us to charge your selected method on a recurring basis.

  • You can cancel any time before the next charge by contacting us at [support@oceanwelfare.com].

  • If you forgot to cancel, we may refund the most recent instalment in line with our refund policy.

7) Payment processing and security

  • Payments are processed by third-party gateways and banks. We do not store full card or wallet details on our servers.

  • You agree to provide accurate information and authorize the processor to charge your method of payment.

  • If we suspect fraud, money laundering, or sanction risks, we may decline, hold, or return a donation and ask for extra verification as allowed by Pakistani law.

8) Tax receipts

  • If you need a receipt for tax purposes in Pakistan, keep your email confirmation or request a receipt at [support@oceanwelfare.com].

  • If a donation is refunded, the original receipt is void and must not be used for any tax claim.

9) Content on this site

  • All text, images, logos, graphics, videos, and documents on our site are owned by us or used with permission.

  • You may not copy, modify, host elsewhere, or commercialize our content without written consent.

  • You may link to our pages in a fair and legal way that does not damage our reputation.

10) Your submissions

  • If you send us testimonials, photos, or stories, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use them on our channels for awareness and fundraising, unless you opt out in writing.

  • Do not upload anything illegal, defamatory, or infringing.

11) Prohibited use

You agree not to:

  • Break any law of Pakistan or applicable international law

  • Try to access our systems without permission

  • Upload malware, attempt to scrape, or use bots that degrade our services

  • Misrepresent your identity, your affiliation, or the purpose of a donation

12) Privacy and cookies

  • We collect and use personal data to process donations, issue receipts, manage relationships, and improve our services.

  • We follow reasonable security practices and applicable Pakistani laws, including PECA 2016 and any data protection laws as they apply.

13) Events, volunteering, and merchandise

  • Event registrations, volunteer sign-ups, and any merchandise sales (if offered) may have extra terms shown at checkout or in confirmation emails. Those terms form part of these Terms.

14) Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party sites or platforms. We do not control or endorse their content or policies. You use them at your own risk.

15) Disclaimers

  • We try to keep information accurate and current, but website content is provided “as is” and “as available.”

  • We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access.

  • Program descriptions are illustrative. Field realities can change due to access, safety, and funding constraints.

16) Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Ocean Welfare Organization and its officers, employees, and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of data, revenue, or goodwill arising from your use of the site or your donations. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you donated in the three months before the claim.

17) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the site.

18) Changes to the site or services

We may change or suspend any feature, campaign, or content without notice. We may update these Terms at any time. The version posted with the effective date applies.
